A Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) will implement physical therapy treatment plans for pediatric patients with various disabilities or delays, aiming to improve their physical, neurological, cognitive, and social/emotional functioning and independence within home and community settings.
Responsibilities
- Provide quality care and meet patient/family needs by performing evaluations, interpreting assessments, developing goals, and creating/implementing physical therapy treatment plans.
- Assist pediatric patients in developing or regaining functioning and improving independence through skilled interventions.
- Participate in educating, coaching, and empowering caregivers and families to carry over therapeutic activities into the child's daily routine.
- Coordinate with referral partners to provide services in accordance with physician orders and IFSP.
- Assure continuation of the therapeutic plan post-discharge by designing and instructing in home exercise programs.
- Document patient care services and care coordination in an electronic medical record system.
- Maintain patient confidence by keeping information confidential.
Requirements
- Texas State PTA License
- Current CPR certification
Qualifications
- A minimum of 1 year of experience preferred
