About This Role

A Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) will implement physical therapy treatment plans for pediatric patients with various disabilities or delays, aiming to improve their physical, neurological, cognitive, and social/emotional functioning and independence within home and community settings.

Responsibilities

  • Provide quality care and meet patient/family needs by performing evaluations, interpreting assessments, developing goals, and creating/implementing physical therapy treatment plans.
  • Assist pediatric patients in developing or regaining functioning and improving independence through skilled interventions.
  • Participate in educating, coaching, and empowering caregivers and families to carry over therapeutic activities into the child's daily routine.
  • Coordinate with referral partners to provide services in accordance with physician orders and IFSP.
  • Assure continuation of the therapeutic plan post-discharge by designing and instructing in home exercise programs.
  • Document patient care services and care coordination in an electronic medical record system.
  • Maintain patient confidence by keeping information confidential.

Requirements

  • Texas State PTA License
  • Current CPR certification

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience preferred

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience (preferred)
