Physical Therapist Assistant

About This Role

Implement and administer physical therapy services for pediatric patients with various disabilities and delays in a home health setting. Provide quality care, educate caregivers, and coordinate with referral partners to ensure continuity of therapeutic plans.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality care by performing evaluations and interpreting assessment results
• Develop goals appropriate to pediatric patients and create physical therapy treatment plans in conjunction with the physician
• Implement skilled interventions to maximize patient potential for physical, neurological, cognitive, and social/emotional functioning and independence
• Educate, coach, and empower caregivers and families to carry over therapeutic activities into the child's daily routine
• Coordinate with referral partners to provide services in accordance with physician orders and IFSP
• Design and instruct patients, families, and caregivers in home exercise programs to assure continuation of therapeutic plans following discharge
• Document patient care services and care coordination in an electronic medical record system
• Maintain patient confidence by keeping information confidential

Requirements

• Texas State PTA License
• Current CPR certification
• Minimum 1 year of experience preferred

Qualifications

• A minimum of 1 year of experience preferred
