About This Role

This Phlebotomist position involves collecting lab specimens and performing basic laboratory tests to contribute to excellent health outcomes for the community of Bethel, Alaska.

Responsibilities

• Collect lab specimens
• Perform basic laboratory tests
• Report test results

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Willingness to take medical terminology classes
• Must obtain National Certification for Phlebotomy within one (1) year
• Willingness to acquire additional skills through on-the-job training or outside classes
• Positive oral and written communication skills
• Positive customer service
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent

Nice to Have

• Health care experience
• Previous computer use
• Bilingual Yupik/English
