Join Mercy Medical Center as a Phlebotomist to safely collect blood samples, ensure quality, and verify patient identification, contributing to compassionate care in a supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- Safely collect blood samples via venipunctures, heel-sticks and finger sticks
- Responsible for quality of blood samples
- Verify patient identification
- Assure safety and comfort of patient by following established standards
- Adhere to Customer Service Excellence
- Perform venipuncture and processing of lab samples for in-house and reference laboratory testing
- Operate simple medical laboratory equipment i.e. centrifuge
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Passed an accredited course including clinical experience OR 1 year of continuous phlebotomy experience
- Computer proficiency and technical aptitude
- Ability to read, write, and speak English
- Ability to work independently and make independent decisions
- Ability to effectively communicate and deal tactfully with others
- Flexibility, personal integrity, and ability to function as a team member
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions
- Skills in patient and customer relations
- Computer literacy
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
