About This Role

Collect and process specimens such as blood and urine according to established procedures, ensuring accurate data entry and compliance with departmental protocols. This role involves direct patient interaction and handling of administrative duties to support laboratory operations.

Responsibilities

  • Collect specimens according to established procedures including drug screens, biometric screenings, and insurance exams
  • Administer oral solutions according to established training
  • Research test/client information and confirm/verify all written and electronic orders using lab technology systems
  • Accurately enter data into the computer system
  • Obtain identification, accurately enter billing information, and collect payments following corporate policies
  • Process specimens by labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, and preparing for transport
  • Perform non-patient facing duties including inventory, stocking supplies, sanitizing, filing, answering phones, and utilizing email
  • Read, understand, and comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures
  • Assist with compilation and submission of statistics and data
  • Maintain all appropriate phlebotomy logs in a timely manner (e.g., maintenance logs, temperature logs)
  • Complete online and in-person training courses timely

Requirements

  • 3 years phlebotomy experience (including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections)
  • Keyboard/data entry experience
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime
  • Reliable transportation (if applicable)
  • Valid driver's license (if applicable)
  • Clean driving record (if applicable)

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Three years phlebotomy experience inclusive of pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections

Nice to Have

  • Medical training (medical assistant or paramedic training)
