This Fulfillment Pharmacy Technician role at Optum's Frontier Therapies will deliver critical pharmacy services for patients with rare diseases. The position ensures accurate prescription fulfillment, proper handling of specialty pharmaceuticals, and coordination of essential logistics to support emerging therapies.
Responsibilities
- Perform various duties related to the fulfillment of prescription orders
- Dispense specialty pharmaceuticals, injectables, cell gene therapies, and related supplies following regulations and company policies
- Process, pack and ship outgoing pharmacy orders, ensuring drug, related supplies and patient collateral are included
- Perform drug/supply ordering and inventory/warehouse duties, including proper storage and refrigeration of perishable products
- Process, pack and ship outgoing specialty distribution orders, ensuring drug, related supplies and accurate documents are included
- Prepare and scan documents, verify member/patient data, submit prescription orders in computer system
- Contact patients to validate data, resolve rejected claims, request payment information, establish priority of order or delivery details, address medication issues, and coordinate treatment with on-site facilities personnel
- Interpret provider prescription and create order, access, input and retrieve prescription and medical/lab information from computer system, verifies whether order/drug is reimbursable/covered
- Perform tracking logistics for outbound shipments to ensure arrived at destination and triage misrouted packages
Requirements
- Active and unrestricted Pharmacy Technician license in the state of Michigan
- 1+ years of pharmacy experience
- 1+ years of customer service experience
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to stand for up to 8 hours with intermittent breaks
- Must be 18 years of age or older
Qualifications
- 1+ years of pharmacy experience and 1+ years of customer service experience
Nice to Have
- National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCB)
- 1+ years of working experience in a warehouse or supply chain inventory environment
- Specialty pharmacy experience
- Team player with ability to multi-task and be detail oriented
- Ability to work efficiently without creating distraction or disruption to other employees
