About This Role

The Pharmacy Manager at Amazon Pharmacy is a licensed Pharmacist overseeing the operations and compliance of a small pharmacy site. This role involves leading a team of technicians and pharmacists, ensuring high standards of safety, quality, and customer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the overall safety, quality, performance and customer experience of the operations.
  • Manage daily operations within the site, including meeting CPT times for same day deliveries.
  • Evaluate physician medication orders for appropriateness of drug, dosage, potential interactions, and route of administration.
  • Set and clarify requirements and expectations for employees, measure performance, and provide feedback.
  • Educate pharmacy staff on policies, reporting guidelines, and expectations related to best quality practices.
  • Drive creation of quality initiatives, process change initiatives and other Lean initiatives.
  • Manage workflow, escalations and effectively delegate across the leadership team.
  • Stay informed and adhere to local, state, and federal laws related to pharmacy practices.
  • Coordinate with the corporate legal team to maintain licensure of the pharmacy and its staff.
  • Develop talent, create, lead and engage with a workforce to drive enhanced performance.

Requirements

  • Doctorate or Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy
  • Active/Good Standing Pharmacist license in North Carolina
  • Extensive knowledge of state and federal laws, rules, and regulations surrounding pharmacy practices and patient safety
  • Experience with performance metrics, process improvement and Lean techniques
  • Strong in oral and written communication skills with the ability to think clearly, analyze quantitatively, problem-solve, support scope of requirements and prioritize.
  • Able to manage detail, establish root cause and be able to extract and manipulate data
  • Work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
  • 1 year Staff Pharmacist experience within Amazon Pharmacy (if currently an Amazon employee)

Qualifications

  • Doctorate or Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy

Nice to Have

  • 2+ years direct management experience, including a salaried workforce, in a manufacturing, production or distribution environment
  • Experience with the full staffing lifecycle, including interviewing, hiring, performance management, promotions and terminations
  • Ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment in stressful situation
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully develop others into higher levels of leadership in an organization
  • Entrepreneurial in mind, with the tenacity to develop ideas independently and thrive in fast-paced environment is crucial
  • An analytical thinker with project management skills, attention to detail, an ability to influence others, and exceptional organizational skills.
  • Interest in long-term career development through assignments in multiple FCs across the nation.
