The Pharmacy Intern will perform all aspects of medication distribution, manage inventory, and maintain automated dispensing machines under the supervision of a Pharmacist. This role provides an opportunity to develop skills and knowledge for a career as a pharmacist while participating in patient care and quality improvement projects.
Responsibilities
- Perform all aspects of medication distribution
- Manage medication inventory
- Maintain Automated Dispensing Machine
- Perform monthly pharmacy inspections per policies/procedures
- Participate in patient care
- Participate in department quality improvements projects
- Develop skills and knowledge base necessary to practice as a pharmacist
Requirements
- Enrolled in Pharmacy School
- State of Virginia Pharmacy Technician license or Pharmacy Intern license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) within 3 months of hire
Qualifications
- High School or GED, and enrolled in Pharmacy School
