Pharmacy Intern

About This Role

The Pharmacy Intern will perform all aspects of medication distribution, manage inventory, and maintain automated dispensing machines under the supervision of a Pharmacist. This role provides an opportunity to develop skills and knowledge for a career as a pharmacist while participating in patient care and quality improvement projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform all aspects of medication distribution
• Manage medication inventory
• Maintain Automated Dispensing Machine
• Perform monthly pharmacy inspections per policies/procedures
• Participate in patient care
• Participate in department quality improvements projects
• Develop skills and knowledge base necessary to practice as a pharmacist

Requirements

• Enrolled in Pharmacy School
• State of Virginia Pharmacy Technician license or Pharmacy Intern license
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 3 months of hire

Qualifications

• High School or GED, and enrolled in Pharmacy School
