Perioperative Support Specialist

About This Role

This role supports perioperative services by gathering, installing, removing, and cleaning medical equipment, as well as managing instruments and supplies for surgical cases. The specialist ensures efficient procedure setup and maintains accurate inventory levels.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the gathering, installation, removal, and cleaning of equipment, utilizing the operating room schedule to anticipate requests
• Gather and pack instruments and sterile supplies for scheduled and added cases to provide efficient procedure set up of surgical cases
• Complete case preparation for all emergency, add-on, and scheduled cases
• Independently access the OR computer system, correctly select preference card(s), and print as needed
• Place returned and new supplies and instruments in the correct location
• Monitor supply levels and obtain needed supplies or report deficiencies to Perioperative Support Supervisor

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED equivalent
• One year of experience in healthcare setting or inventory/equipment management
• Basic Life Support (AHA) within 3 months of hire

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent
• One year of experience in healthcare setting or inventory/equipment management.
