About This Role

This Pharmacist role involves reviewing medication orders for appropriateness, ensuring patient safety by checking for clinical conflicts, and managing pharmacy inventory. The role also includes providing drug information and overseeing pharmacy students and technicians.

Responsibilities

  • Review all medication orders received from Physicians and Physician Extenders
  • Dispense medications after assuring that drug, dose, frequency, and route of administration are appropriate
  • Review patient allergies, past medical history, drug interactions, and lab information for any potential clinical conflicts prior to dispensing medications
  • Responsible for inventory control
  • Provide drug information support for other healthcare team members
  • Oversee the work of all pharmacy students and technicians in the preparation of medications to ensure accuracy and safety in the medication use process
  • Collaborate with the Health Care Team on the planning for continuum of care and discharge planning

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree College of Pharmacy accredited by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education
  • PA Pharmacist License

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree College of Pharmacy accredited by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education Required
  • 1 year experience working in hospital, or Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) in a clinical setting Preferred

Nice to Have

  • Doctorate Degree PharmD
  • 1 year experience working in hospital, or Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) in a clinical setting
