This role involves providing direct personal care to older adults in a home-like environment, assisting with daily activities to support their hygiene, grooming, and self-esteem. The PCA will build warm, friendly relationships with residents, ensuring their safety and promoting socialization and independence.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing and toileting, to ensure good hygiene, grooming and self-esteem
- Respond to call bells promptly
- Serve meals or monitor eating/drinking habits to identify potential dietary concerns, and occasionally prepare meals
- Accompany residents to and from the dining room, various appointments, and activities to ensure safety and timely arrival
- Conduct planned and spontaneous activities with residents to encourage socialization and promote self-esteem
- Assist with the admission, discharge, and transfer of residents to promote continuity of care
Requirements
- Minimum 18 years of age
- High school diploma or GED (or proof of completion within 6 months of hire)
- Ability to effectively interact with residents, resident families, and team members
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or documentation that the GED or high school diploma will be received within 6 months of hire
- Entry level position
