Patient Service Specialist

About This Role

This is an entry-level Patient Service Specialist role responsible for coordinating patient appointments, managing patient information, verifying insurance, and collecting payments at a medical front office in Midlothian, TX.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient appointments with the Center manager to minimize cancellations and support treatment adherence
• Register patient information, ensuring all forms are complete with signatures and accurate information documented in the electronic medical record
• Verify patient insurance, obtaining required authorizations before patient visit and explain benefits, financial responsibilities, billing, and outpatient policies
• Collect patient responsibility at each visit
• Scan and maintain medical documents
• Reconcile and post charges daily and other reporting to ensure clean claim processing
• Respond to all requests for information from patients, other departments, and physicians
• Maintain office, order supplies, and manage mail
• Adjust schedule to center needs and travel to non-home locations for coverage when necessary
• Attend all mandatory meetings and in-service education programs

Requirements

• HS diploma or GED

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED
• Entry-level position. Experience in customer service, insurance verification, healthcare, medical, or dental office administration is preferred.
