Patient Care Tech, MedSurg - PRN

About This Role

Join a dynamic Med-Surg team at Piedmont Walton, providing hands-on patient care in a fast-paced environment for various adult patients, including those with orthopedic, surgical, cardiac, and complex medical conditions.

Responsibilities

• Provide care to patients from birth through the lifecycle, under the supervision of licensed clinical staff
• Demonstrate competency with treatments, procedures and equipment appropriate to the clinical setting and hospital policy
• Perform IV starts
• Assist with bedside procedures
• Provide wound care
• Manage NGTs and chest tubes
• Administer blood transfusions
• Care for post-op, central line, and colostomy patients
• Float to assist with needs across the hospital

Requirements

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
• BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
• No experience required, 1 year of patient care experience preferred

Nice to Have

• 1 year of patient care experience
• CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant
• Certification from a Patient Care Technician program
