Assist patients with activities of daily living and basic hygiene tasks under the direction of licensed personnel. This role involves taking vital signs, documenting in medical records, and interacting effectively with patients and their families.
Responsibilities
- Perform vital signs, weights/heights, intakes, and outputs accurately and within established time frames
- Complete all documentation in the medical record as required
- Interact effectively with patients and their families
- Help patients with basic hygiene tasks, including bathing and dressing
- Assist patients with using the toilet
- Help patients turn and reposition themselves in bed
- Help patients move between the bed and a wheelchair
- Listen to patient health concerns and report them to nurses
Requirements
- Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Strong patient/customer service skills
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds
- Proficient computer skills to work efficiently with electronic medical records
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred
- 1-2 years experience working in patient care/elder care preferred
