Parts Specialist

About This Role

The Parts Specialist provides exceptional service to all retail and installer customers, assisting them with merchandise selection, accurately processing transactions, and resolving complaints. This role also supports store management in daily operational tasks.

Responsibilities

• Promote and follow all company customer service programs
• Promptly greet and assist retail/walk-in customers in merchandise selection
• Assist managers and installer service specialists in serving professional customers
• Complete assigned company training relevant to the position
• Provide excellent service to customers calling the store by answering calls, accurately looking up parts and quoting prices, recommending premium and related items, and offering the Low-Price Guarantee
• Accurately maintain and secure the cash drawer, accept cash/checks/credit card transactions, and make change
• Process exchanges and returns for credit in accordance with company policies and procedures
• Address and resolve customer complaints in a friendly manner
• Assist with daily image maker and planogram updates, freight receival, stocking shelves, fronting and facing, and cleaning
• Perform various daily operational tasks, including preparing merchandise returns (new, core, warranty) for shipping, and assisting with monthly stock adjustments and inventory cycle counts
• Operate brake lathe and other store test equipment after training
• Perform various in-store services for customers (e.g., install wipers, test/charge batteries, test charging system, scan vehicle trouble codes, replace headlight capsules)
• Occasionally drive a delivery vehicle to make deliveries when business needs dictate

Requirements

• Ability to quickly match alphanumeric sequences
• Ability to provide outstanding, friendly and professional customer service
• Ability to multitask, handling customers on the phone and in the store at the same time

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with automotive parts, cataloging, weatherly index system, and automotive sales or service
• Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish is highly desired)
