Parts Specialist

About This Role

Provide exceptional customer service to all retail and installer customers, assist with merchandise selection, cash handling, and daily operational tasks for an automotive parts retailer.

Responsibilities

• Promote all company customer service programs
• Greet retail/walk-in customers and assist them with merchandise selection
• Assist managers and installer service specialists in serving professional customers
• Complete assigned company training
• Provide excellent service to customers calling the store by answering calls, looking up parts, quoting prices, and recommending items
• Accurately maintain and secure the cash drawer, accept cash/checks, make change, and process credit card transactions
• Process exchanges and returns for credit in accordance with company policies
• Address and resolve customer complaints
• Assist with daily image maker and planogram updates, including freight receival, stocking shelves, fronting, facing, and cleaning
• Perform various daily operational tasks such as preparing returns and assisting with inventory
• Operate brake lathe and other store test equipment after training
• Perform various in-store services for customers (e.g., install wipers, battery tests, replace headlights)
• Occasionally drive a delivery vehicle for deliveries

Requirements

• Ability to quickly match alphanumeric sequences
• Ability to provide outstanding, friendly and professional customer service
• Ability to multitask, handling customers on the phone and in the store simultaneously

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with automotive parts, cataloging, weatherly index system, and automotive sales or service
• Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish is highly desired)
