Parts Specialist

About This Role

This Parts Specialist role focuses on providing excellent customer service to retail and installer customers, assisting with merchandise selection, and efficiently handling transactions. The position supports store management and contributes to daily operational tasks within the store.

Responsibilities

• Follow and promote all company customer service programs
• Greet retail/walk-in customers and assist them in merchandise selection
• Assist managers and/or installer service specialists in serving professional customers
• Complete assigned company training relevant to position
• Provide excellent service to customers calling the store by answering calls, looking up parts, quoting prices, and recommending items
• Accurately maintain and secure the cash drawer, process cash, checks, and credit card transactions
• Process exchanges and returns for credit in accordance with company policies
• Address and resolve customer complaints in a friendly manner
• Assist with daily image maker and planogram updates, freight receival, stocking, and cleaning
• Perform various daily operational tasks, including preparing merchandise returns and assisting with inventory counts
• Operate brake lathe and other store test equipment after training
• Perform various in-store services for customers (e.g., install wipers, test batteries, scan trouble codes)
• Occasionally drive a delivery vehicle to make deliveries when business needs dictate

Requirements

• Ability to quickly match alphanumeric sequences
• Ability to provide outstanding, friendly and professional customer service
• Must be able to multitask, handling customers on the phone and in the store at the same time

Nice to Have

• Familiar with automotive parts, cataloging, weatherly index system, and automotive sales or service
• Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish is highly desired)
