Parts Specialist

About This Role

Provide high-level customer service to retail and installer customers, assisting in merchandise selection, processing transactions, and supporting store management in daily operational tasks. This role is crucial for maintaining customer satisfaction and efficient store operations.

Responsibilities

• Follow and promote all company customer service programs
• Promptly greet and assist retail/walk-in customers with merchandise selection
• Assist managers and/or installer service specialists with professional customer service
• Complete assigned company training relevant to position
• Provide excellent phone service to customers by accurately looking up parts, quoting prices, and recommending items
• Accurately maintain and secure the cash drawer, processing various transaction types
• Process exchanges and returns for credit in accordance with company policies
• Address and resolve customer complaints in a friendly manner
• Assist with daily image maker and planogram updates, including freight receival and stocking shelves
• Perform various daily operational tasks like preparing merchandise returns and assisting with inventory counts
• Operate brake lathe and other store test equipment after training
• Perform various in-store services for customers (e.g., install wipers, test batteries, scan vehicle trouble codes)
• Occasionally drive a delivery vehicle to make deliveries when business needs dictate

• Ability to provide outstanding, friendly and professional customer service
• Must be able to multitask, handling customers on the phone and in the store at the same time

Qualifications

• Ability to quickly match alphanumeric sequences, provide outstanding customer service, and multitask with customers on phone and in-store.

Nice to Have

• Familiar with automotive parts, cataloging, weatherly index system, and automotive sales or service
• ASE certification
• Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish is highly desired)
