Parts Specialist

About This Role

Provide outstanding customer service to retail and installer customers, assisting them with merchandise selection and part lookups, while also supporting store management with daily operational tasks.

Responsibilities

• Promote all company customer service programs
• Greet retail/walk-in customers and assist them with merchandise selection
• Assist managers and/or installer service specialists in serving professional customers
• Complete assigned company training relevant to position
• Provide excellent service to customers calling the store on the phone, accurately looking up parts and quoting prices
• Maintain and secure the cash drawer, process cash, checks, and credit card transactions
• Process exchanges and returns for credit in accordance with company policies and procedures
• Address and resolve customer complaints
• Assist with daily image maker and planogram updates, including freight receival and stocking shelves
• Perform various daily operational tasks, such as preparing merchandise returns and assisting with inventory counts
• Operate brake lathe and other store test equipment after training
• Perform various in-store services for customers (e.g., install wipers, test batteries, scan vehicle trouble codes)
• Occasionally drive a delivery vehicle to make deliveries

Requirements

• Ability to quickly match alphanumeric sequences
• Ability to provide outstanding, friendly and professional customer service
• Ability to multitask, handling customers on the phone and in the store at the same time

Nice to Have

• Familiar with automotive parts, cataloging, weatherly index system, and automotive sales or service
• ASE certification
