Parts Specialist

About This Role

The Parts Specialist is responsible for providing exceptional service to retail and installer customers, assisting them with merchandise selection, and supporting store management with daily tasks. This role ensures customer satisfaction by handling inquiries, processing transactions, and resolving complaints, while also performing various operational and in-store services.

Responsibilities

• Follow and promote all company customer service programs
• Promptly greet retail/walk-in customers and assist them in selection of merchandise
• Assist managers and installer service specialists in serving professional customers
• Complete assigned company training relevant to position
• Provide excellent service to customers calling the store by answering calls, looking up parts, quoting prices, and recommending items
• Accurately maintain and secure the cash drawer, accept payments, and process credit card transactions
• Process exchanges and returns for credit in accordance with company policies
• Address and resolve customer complaints in a friendly manner
• Assist with daily image maker and planogram updates, including freight receival, stocking, and cleaning
• Perform various daily operational tasks, including preparing merchandise returns and assisting with inventory counts
• Operate brake lathe and other store test equipment after training
• Perform various in-store services for customers (e.g., install wipers, test batteries, scan vehicle codes)
• Occasionally drive a delivery vehicle to make deliveries

Requirements

• Ability to quickly match alphanumeric sequences
• Ability to provide outstanding, friendly and professional customer service
• Ability to multitask, handling customers on the phone and in the store at the same time

Nice to Have

• Familiar with automotive parts, cataloging, weatherly index system, and automotive sales or service
• ASE certification
