Parts Specialist

About This Role

This Parts Specialist role focuses on delivering high-level customer service to retail and installer customers, supporting store management, and performing essential operational tasks in an auto parts store environment.

Responsibilities

• Follow and promote all company customer service programs, including Hi-5, Low Price Guarantee, and Related Selling
• Greet retail/walk-in customers, assisting in merchandise selection
• Assist managers and/or installer service specialists in serving professional customers
• Complete assigned company training relevant to position
• Provide excellent service to customers calling the store by accurately looking up parts, quoting prices, and recommending items
• Accurately maintain and secure the cash drawer, process cash, checks, and credit card transactions
• Process exchanges and returns for credit in accordance with company policies and procedures
• Address and resolve customer complaints in a friendly manner
• Assist with daily image maker and planogram updates, including freight receival, stocking, and cleaning
• Perform various daily operational tasks like preparing merchandise returns, stock adjustments, and inventory cycle counts
• Operate brake lathe and other store test equipment after training
• Perform various in-store services for customers (e.g., install wipers, test batteries, scan trouble codes)
• Occasionally drive a delivery vehicle for deliveries when business needs dictate

Requirements

• Ability to quickly match alphanumeric sequences
• Ability to provide outstanding, friendly and professional customer service
• Ability to multitask, handling customers on the phone and in the store at the same time

Nice to Have

• Familiar with automotive parts, cataloging, weatherly index system, and automotive sales or service
• Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish is highly desired)
