Parts Specialist

About This Role

The Parts Specialist provides exceptional customer service to both retail and installer customers, assisting them with merchandise selection and part lookups, while also supporting store management with daily operational tasks and training.

Responsibilities

• Follow and promote all company customer service programs (e.g., Hi-5, Low Price Guarantee, Rock the Call)
• Promptly greet retail/walk-in customers and assist them in merchandise selection
• Assist managers and/or installer service specialists in serving professional customers
• Complete assigned company training relevant to the position
• Provide excellent service to phone customers by accurately looking up parts, quoting prices, and recommending related items
• Accurately maintain and secure the cash drawer, process payments, and make change
• Process exchanges and returns for credit in accordance with company policies
• Address and resolve customer complaints in a friendly manner
• Assist with daily image maker and planogram updates, including freight receival and stocking shelves
• Perform various daily operational tasks like preparing returns and assisting with inventory counts
• Operate brake lathe and other store test equipment after training
• Perform various in-store services for customers (e.g., install wipers, test batteries, scan trouble codes)
• Occasionally drive a delivery vehicle to make deliveries when business needs dictate

Requirements

• Ability to quickly match alphanumeric sequences
• Ability to provide outstanding, friendly and professional customer service
• Ability to multitask, handling customers on the phone and in the store at the same time

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with automotive parts, cataloging, weatherly index system, and automotive sales or service
• Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish is highly desired)
