Part Time Head Cashier

About This Role

As a Part-Time Head Cashier, you will monitor and assist customers at self-checkout, provide excellent customer service, manage cash register operations, and ensure the cleanliness and safety of the store.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assist customers at multiple self-checkout registers simultaneously
• Approach and interact with customers to proactively recommend products and services
• Greet, assist, and engage with multiple customers on multiple registers at the same time
• Process sales transactions, returns, and refunds using a cash register according to company guidelines
• Provide proper monetary change to CSA Front End associates for register activities
• Provide supervision, coaching, and support to CSA Front End Team (Front End/Loaders)
• Prepare register area at the beginning and end of shift by confirming functionality and stocking supplies
• Inspect returned merchandise for damages
• Monitor merchandise entering and leaving store entrances and exits and assist customers or associates who trigger the alarm
• Detect common signs of shoplifting, theft, and other security risks, and promptly communicate them to management and/or Asset Protection

Requirements

• Less than 1 year of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information
• Less than 1 year of experience using common retail technology, such as smart phones and tablets
• 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier
• Ability to lift items weighing up to 15 pounds with or without a reasonable accommodation

Qualifications

• 1 to 2 years of retail experience as a cashier

Nice to Have

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1 to 2 years of experience identifying and selling products based on customer needs, including credit cards, installations, add-on sales, protection plans, and explaining warranties, product features, and benefits
• 1 to 2 years of experience as a head cashier
• 1 to 2 years of experience working in any department at a Lowe's retail store
• 1 to 2 years of supervisory experience in any field, including directing, delegating, evaluating, training, and coaching employees
• Less than a year of retail experience detecting common signs of shoplifting
