About This Role

This role provides essential customer service as a CDL Delivery Driver, delivering merchandise and ensuring on-time delivery for Lowe's customers. Responsibilities include loading trucks, inspecting products, and maintaining vehicle safety.

Responsibilities

  • Provide SMART customer service through daily execution of Lowe's customer service policies
  • Assist customers in locating, demonstrating, selecting, carrying, and/or loading merchandise
  • Listen to and respond knowledgeably and promptly to customer and employee questions
  • Communicate information to customers regarding stock, special order merchandise, feature benefits, application, and warranty information
  • Contact customers regarding delivery or coordinate with the truck driver for customer calls
  • Plan delivery activities, print loading tickets, and deliver merchandise according to schedule
  • Pull merchandise, build and band delivery loads, and load trucks within payload according to delivery order
  • Inspect condition of products (e.g., appliances) before loading for delivery or assisting customer with loading
  • Match items on invoice with quantities loaded by verifying descriptions, items, and model numbers
  • Ensure loads are safe, secure, and within Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations
  • Update delivery and route status on system for tracking purposes
  • Unload, install, and test appliances upon delivery
  • Verify daily vehicle inspections and reports, and ensure cleanliness, maintenance, and repairs for delivery vehicles and equipment
  • Complete Department of Transportation (DOT) reporting to maintain DOT certification and CDL compliance
  • Detect common signs of shoplifting, theft, and other security risks, and communicate them to management and/or Asset Protection
  • Ensure compliance with housekeeping standards and programs to maintain cleanliness and organization of store and working areas
  • Maintain a safe and secure work environment, including daily safety reviews, noting hazards, keeping aisles clear, and securing doors and gates
  • Adhere to all safety requirements relevant to regular job duties
  • Operate store equipment as needed (e.g., Zebra phone, telephone, paging system, computers, CCTV surveillance system)

Requirements

  • Class A or B CDL License with air brake endorsement (if applicable)
  • Valid medical certificate or ability to obtain one upon employment
  • Ability to pass MVR screen
  • Ability to obtain sales related licensure or registration as required by law
  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic
  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Ability to comply with DOT and CDL regulations

Nice to Have

  • 1 Year Experience driving a semi-truck/trailer or certification from a driving school
  • 6 Months Experience performing in-home delivery or retail customer service
  • 3 Months Experience operating a forklift or Moffett onloading/offloading a vehicle
