Serve as a Parenting Coach, working with families and youth to provide support, guidance, and education in various life skills to facilitate successful outcomes whether reunification or prevention of out-of-home placement.
Responsibilities
- Work directly with assigned Home-Based Caseworker and/or Therapist to assist in meeting the needs of the referred client(s)
- Assist assigned families with time management, life skill development, transportation, child development education, home management, nutrition, child supervision, and problem solving
- Supervise visitations of children who are not living with their birth families if needed
- Advocate on behalf of the families for the successful reunification and/or prevention of out of home placement of the children living in the home
- Assist and support excellence in public relations with referral agencies, the court system, and system partners
- Work collaboratively with the NYAP team
- Complete all required paperwork per agency policies and procedures
Requirements
- 21 years of age or older
- Reliable personal transportation
- Good driving record
- Minimum automobile insurance coverage of $100,000/$300,000 bodily injury liability
- Proficient use of desktop and laptop computers, smart phones and tablets, printers, fax machines and photocopiers as well as software including word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent GED. Associate's Degree in social services is preferred.
- Experience working with youth/families is preferred
