About This Role

Support the early learner program by providing a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to student needs. Implement individual or small group instruction under the direction of a certified teacher and facilitate behavioral programs.

Responsibilities

• Implement individual or small group instruction under the direction and/or supervision of a certified teacher
• Collaborate with the teacher, prepare and maintain materials
• Familiarize self with goals and objectives for individual students in the classroom
• Facilitate implementation of behavioral programs and procedures
• Document student behavior and learning as directed by the teacher
• Help in loading and unloading student buses during assigned work hours
• Escort students as directed by the classroom teacher
• Lift, transfer, position, toilet, etc.
• Attend staff meetings and staff development activities as assigned

Requirements

• Paraprofessional Educator License, Professional Educator or Provisional Educator License
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Excellent physical agility and quick response time

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or higher, completion of at least 60 semester hours of college course work, or a high school diploma/GED with a passing score on the ETS Para Pro exam or two specific Work Keys exams
• Experience working with students in an educational setting preferred
