About This Role

This role directs all aspects of paperboard manufacturing operations, ensuring products meet job schedules and customer specifications. The director will lead cultural change processes, implement strategic initiatives for operational and human capital areas, and manage capital investments for cost reduction and equipment refurbishment.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and direct production operations to provide products according to job schedules and customer specifications
  • Develop and administer material and labor usage
  • Provide operational expertise for leading and managing cultural change processes and strategic capabilities in operational and human capital areas
  • Develop and implement programs for new capital investments, cost reduction, and equipment refurbishment
  • Develop and administer a maintenance program for buildings and equipment in consultation with the Mill Manager
  • Administer and implement Labor Relations (CBA) in consultation with Human Resources and the Mill Manager
  • Prepare budgets and standards for cost measurement
  • Determine training needs and administer appropriate training programs for salaried and hourly employees on Paper Machines
  • Provide leadership for the implementation of problem-solving strategies and execution of key performance objectives in finished product production

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 10+ years of management experience in the pulp and paper industry

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of management experience in the pulp and paper industry.
