About This Role

This role supports the Line team, assisting Journeyman Lineman and the Foreman in constructing and maintaining poles, power lines, and related equipment for electricity distribution. The position focuses on ensuring reliable electrical services while adhering to safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Construct, maintain, and inspect transmission and distribution of electrical or power lines
• Provide technical skills for the operation and maintenance of reliable electrical services
• Connect and disconnect, install and remove, move and transfer various electrical devices on customer facilities
• Route or reroute power lines over, under, or around existing lines and structures
• Inspect and/or remove damaged power lines
• Assist in carrying poles, digging holes, and other operations involved in setting or replacing poles
• Perform line switching or sectionalizing as directed
• Assist in on-the-job training of apprentices and other crew members
• Troubleshoot electrical problems on customer equipment
• Drive bucket truck to jobsite and maintain truck stock
• Investigate consumer complaints and make repairs to energized electrical distribution lines

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 3 years of lineman experience
• Valid Class A CDL

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 3 years of lineman experience

Nice to Have

• 5 or more years of experience
• OSHA 10 Certification
