About This Role

This frontline supervisor position at FedEx supports the company's "Safety Above All" culture and manages daily operations and staff, ensuring safe and efficient package sortation. The role also involves managing administrative employees and ensuring compliance with company policies and governmental regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Champion FedEx's Safety Above All Culture and support related initiatives
  • Manage staff, including hiring, terminations, coaching, training, recognition, performance evaluation, discipline, and addressing employee concerns
  • Plan, organize, staff, direct, and control specific day-to-day operations
  • Assign and manage employees to ensure safe and efficient package sortation, minimizing operational cost and maximizing operational quality
  • Analyze operational performance, identify improvement opportunities, and execute action plans to achieve results
  • Lead daily employee and/or planning meetings to communicate operational updates and daily goals
  • Administer company employee relations strategies, maintaining confidentiality
  • Administer company safety strategies and programs
  • Investigate, resolve, and/or escalate customer service issues
  • Train new employees on job duties, performance expectations, and compliance with FXG policies and training requirements
  • Mentor and develop critical skill sets for new and/or less-experienced Operations Supervisors

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Six (6) months experience in a fast-paced environment (retail, hospitality, fulfillment center, warehouse, dock, or stock room/stock functions), military, or supervisory experience, or as a package handler at FedEx
  • Ability to inspire a shared vision and empower and motivate a team
  • Ability to build professional rapport and effectively lead diverse groups
  • Ability to apply sound business judgment to establish and accomplish goals
  • Verbal and written communication skills for various audience levels
  • Ability to effectively provide employees instruction on process and practice
  • Ability to read, interpret and draw conclusions from numerical data and written information
  • Microsoft Office software and web-based applications skills
  • Ability to maintain working knowledge of relevant technology-based projects
  • Ability to mentor, coach and act as a knowledge resource

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Six (6) months experience required in a fast-paced environment, military, or supervisory role; or as a package handler at FedEx.
