Operator Telecom Construction Equipment

About This Role

Operate and maintain specialized construction equipment for installing telecom infrastructure, ensuring safety and functionality. This role involves site preparation, equipment operation, and site clean-up for phone and internet projects.

Responsibilities

• Attend new site Job Safety Analysis
• Safely operate and control assigned equipment, including directional drills, backhoes, excavators, skid steers, tractor trailers, and vacuum trucks
• Dig pits, trenches, or potholes as directed by job plan
• Responsible for site set-up and clean-up
• Load and unload tools, materials, and equipment from trucks
• Set up safety perimeter using signage, cones, barriers, and flagging traffic
• Perform work in all weather conditions
• Restore and/or landscape disturbed areas of the jobsite
• Develop and maintain a bore schedule

Requirements

• 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States
• Acceptable driving record
• Ability to work in all weather conditions
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. regularly (up to 75 lbs. as needed)
• Ability to climb ladders/machinery
• Ability to work overtime/weekends/on-call
• Experienced with drilling equipment
• Proficient in using utility locators
• Capable of maintaining a safe work environment
• Ability to read/understand work orders and safety instructions
• Six months of supervised equipment operation experience

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
• Six months of supervised equipment operation experience. Previous construction or utility experience is a plus.
