The Operations Supervisor manages workflow, assigns tasks, supports staff, and monitors results for a warehouse team, ensuring safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. This role also involves improving processes, setting targets, and acting as a link between employees and upper management.
Responsibilities
- Manage team's workflow by assigning tasks, supporting staff, monitoring results, and reporting to senior management
- Ensure safety and efficiency by improving processes and setting team targets
- Act as a link between employees and upper management
- Coach and resolve issues for team members
- Promote a safe environment for customer's product, associates, and temporary workers
- Follow established operational procedures for incoming/outgoing shipments, material handling, and inventory
- Provide 100% customer satisfaction
- Build a positive teamwork environment by listening and communicating with associates
- Help maintain attendance and tardiness records
- Monitor daily compliance with safety procedures
- Investigate accidents and prepare reports
- Provide on-the-job coaching and training to maintain associate skills
- Help coordinate vacations, payroll, and timesheets for associates and temporary workers
- Oversee warehouse associates
- Maintain proper Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) for food grade warehouse
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with some college level study
- 2+ years experience in a supervisor warehousing role
- Strong oral and written communication skills
