Operations Supervisor

About This Role

The Operations Supervisor will oversee daily operations at a waste tire processing facility, ensuring environmental, health, and safety compliance. This role involves supervising production activities, equipment operation and maintenance, staff scheduling, and aiming for cost-effective, safe, and efficient operations.

Responsibilities

• Produce tire-derived fuel in line with volume, cost, and quality targets
• Operate and oversee mobile equipment and tire shredding equipment
• Optimize operating schedules to maximize productivity and equipment life
• Maintain production KPIs, shift logs, and maintenance documentation
• Schedule and manage staff for maintenance, repairs, and wear-part changeovers
• Coordinate maintenance activities with the maintenance supervisor
• Conduct mobile equipment inspections and address repair needs with the shop
• Act as backup to maintenance and collections supervisors as required
• Coordinate with collections teams to manage trailer movements
• Handle non-routine operational issues and troubleshoot production challenges
• Supervise, train, and develop hourly employees
• Coordinate personnel training for shredders and mobile equipment
• Interface with internal teams, visitors, customers, and transport partners
• Promote and model strong environmental, health, and safety compliance at all times

Requirements

• 3-5 years of operational experience (or Bachelor's degree)
• 3+ years of supervisory or managerial experience
• Strong working knowledge of production KPIs and operational reporting
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project)
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 3–5 years of equivalent operational experience
• 3-5 years of experience in operations within waste management or a technical environment; 3+ years of supervisory or managerial experience

• Background in Science, Business, or a related field
• Experience in waste management or a technical environment
• SAP experience
