About This Role

This is a frontline supervisor position that oversees daily operations and manages staff, ensuring safe and efficient package sortation. The role involves upholding FedEx's Safety Above All Culture and may also manage administrative functions.

Responsibilities

  • Champion FedEx's Safety Above All Culture and support all related initiatives
  • Manage specific day-to-day operations and assigned staff, including hiring, terminations, coaching, training, and performance evaluation
  • Ensure safe and efficient package sortation through effective employee management
  • Analyze operational performance, identify improvement opportunities, and execute action plans
  • Lead daily employee meetings to communicate operational updates and goals
  • Administer company employee relations strategies, maintaining confidentiality
  • Administer company safety strategies and programs
  • Investigate, resolve, and/or escalate customer service issues
  • Train new employees on job duties, performance expectations, and compliance with FXG policies and procedures
  • Mentor and develop critical skill sets for new and/or less-experienced Operations Supervisors

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Six months experience in a fast-paced environment (retail, hospitality, fulfillment center, warehouse, dock, or stock room/stock functions), military experience with honorable discharge or supervisory experience
  • Ability to inspire a shared vision and empower and motivate a team
  • Ability to build professional rapport, effectively lead a team and positively influence diverse groups
  • Proven ability to apply sound business judgment to establish and accomplish goals
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to effectively provide employees instruction on process and practice
  • Ability to read, interpret and draw conclusions from numerical data and written information
  • Software skills, including use of Microsoft Office software and web-based applications
  • Ability to maintain a working knowledge of relevant technology-based projects
  • Ability to mentor, coach and act as a knowledge resource to other employees

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Six (6) months experience required in a fast-paced environment, package handler at FedEx, military, or supervisory experience. In lieu of experience, certification program or Associate's Degree in related area or 2+ years of college courses towards a degree.
