Lead and manage the lifecycle of challenging cross-functional projects focusing on sortation and distribution solutions for Amazon's supply chain. Partner with internal customers and stakeholders to plan and implement facility network infrastructure, including new builds, retrofits, and expansions.
Responsibilities
- Work independently with internal and external teams to successfully manage the lifecycle of challenging projects and deliver on objectives
- Actively participate in firm engineering reviews and make tangible impact on proposed solutions for systems architecture and facility processes
- Partner with internal teams, stakeholders, and external vendors to set project priorities, establish milestones, and drive schedules
- Lead and coordinate execution efforts in delivering systems and automated equipment designs, performing installation, throughput, and safety qualifications
- Lead effective meetings by setting objectives, driving detailed business and technical discussions, and documenting decisions
- Promptly and accurately communicate project status, risk analysis, and mitigation plans to leadership
- Competently articulate system and/or equipment designs, including layouts, technical specifications, and functional capabilities
- Efficiently manage change order controls, purchase orders, and invoice validation/approvals
- Identify and lead process improvement initiatives that improve Engineering and cross-teams’ efficiencies
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in industrial or manufacturing engineering
- 4+ years of industrial engineer, operations engineer, manufacturing engineer, or project engineer experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience working with Material Handling Equipment (MHE)
- Knowledge of automated material handling systems, packaging technologies and storage solutions
- Intermediate knowledge of AutoCAD, VBA, and SQL
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in industrial or manufacturing engineering
- 4+ years of industrial engineer, operations engineer, manufacturing engineer, or project engineer experience in a manufacturing environment
Nice to Have
- Master's degree in engineering, management, or technology
- Experience working with and managing third party vendors
- Experience with Six Sigma, lean manufacturing
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, MS Project)
