This Operational Account Manager will be a key part of the Road US team's freight brokerage operations, focusing on establishing and developing customer relationships through exceptional service. The role involves managing house accounts, seeking new growth opportunities, and overseeing client communication.
Responsibilities
- Develop customer relationships via phone, email, and in-person communication
- Negotiate with transportation carriers to set rates and determine services
- Research and identify growth opportunities within house accounts
- Investigate and establish new customer leads and opportunities
- Examine customer requests to provide optimal service options and pricing
- Proactively handle customer shipment requests
- Utilize TMS system for data input to facilitate material movement, planning, and scheduling
- Monitor shipment tracking from pickup through delivery and communicate updates to customers
- Ensure customer expectations are met or exceeded through close communication with Carrier Sales team
- Prepare spend reports and conduct regular QBR or MBR check-ins with customers
- Drive new business acquisition and customer growth through a strong commercial mindset
- Travel up to 5% as needed
Requirements
- High School diploma
- 3 years experience in logistics, transportation brokerage, or related field
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint)
- Solid analytical experience in Excel
- Experience with transportation management systems (TMS)
- English language proficiency (reading, writing, verbal)
- Strong mathematical skills for pricing, negotiating and project development
- Superior leadership skills
- Ability to build and cultivate strong relationships
- Driven, enthusiastic, and highly motivated
- High attention to detail and ability to multitask
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to thrive under deadlines and work in a team environment
- Excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills

Qualifications
- High School diploma
- 3+ years experience in logistics, transportation brokerage, or related field.
Nice to Have
- College degree in Logistics or Supply Chain Management
- 5 years’ experience in logistics, transportation brokerage, or related field
