This role involves the preparation and delivery of human milk and infant/pediatric formula, ensuring adherence to food safety and sanitation regulations. The position is responsible for operating and maintaining equipment in the preparation room, processing orders, and conducting quality assurance monitoring.
Responsibilities
- Process orders and dispense human milk/formula requests through the computer system, including data entry.
- Prepare human milk/formula orders per recipe or registered dietitian nutrition (RDN) instruction, ensuring correct techniques, packaging, and labeling.
- Report discrepancies in feeding orders to the supervisor or RDN.
- Operate and maintain automated systems or technology for human milk/formula preparation.
- Perform formula area inspections for quality assurance and communicate concerns to a supervisor.
- Monitor inventory levels, stock the human milk and formula center, and rotate stock effectively to minimize waste.
- Ensure proper storage requirements for formulas and human milk, including oversight of monitoring systems.
- Utilize human milk/formula delivery systems efficiently, including pneumatic tube systems and hand-delivery.
- Respond to urgent requests for human milk or formula delivery to meet acute needs.
- Employ courtesy and constructive communication with colleagues, customers, patients, and staff.
Requirements
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 3 years of relevant experience
- At least eighteen years of age at the time of application
- Good moral character including application of ICARE values
- Ability to perform necessary math skills, understand and calculate weights and measure
- Demonstrated computer experience
- Demonstrated strong communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to operate functions and document in the electronic medical record
- Active certification from a nationally accredited infant formula technician certification program
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 3 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Nice to Have
- Customer service experience in healthcare industry with patient interaction
- DTR - Dietetic Technician, Registered upon hire
- PHAR-C - Certified Pharmacy Tech upon hire
