Nursing Assistant

About This Role

Assist licensed healthcare providers in delivering patient care to adult psychiatric patients in an all-male unit. This role involves providing direct patient care, assisting with activities of daily living, and implementing psychiatric rehabilitation activities.

Responsibilities

• Assist a licensed healthcare provider in the delivery of patient care to adult patients with a primary psychiatric diagnosis
• Provide age-appropriate and specific needs treatment services
• Perform related tasks such as obtaining vital signs and assisting with activities of daily living
• Plan, organize, and implement psychiatric rehabilitation activities
• Escort patients to and from activities
• Assist in screening and basic assessment of patients
• Document and keep records of patient behavior
• Supervise patients during treatment/support activities
• Lead/co-lead group activities
• Implement hospital and departmental policies, procedures, rules, and regulations to assure a safe, therapeutic environment

Requirements

• High School Diploma (HS)
• Knowledge of CPR
• Basic concept of abnormal vital sign parameters
• Strong organizational skills
• Prioritization skills
• Basic computer navigation skills
• Working knowledge of the Internet

Qualifications

• HS
• No Experience Required.

Nice to Have

• Previous Healthcare Experience
• CPR Certification
