Provide direct patient care in a Med/Surg unit under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, ensuring patient safety and comfort while contributing to Essentia Health's mission. This role involves assisting with daily needs, monitoring patient conditions, and maintaining a clean environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct care to patients in a manner conducive to their safety and comfort
- Assist with personal hygiene care
- Assist with nutritional needs
- Provide comfort care and other assistance
- Appropriately and safely transfer patients
- Take vital signs and complete recordkeeping
- Recognize and promptly report changes in patient condition to the RN
- Maintain a safe, clean environment for patients to promote the healing process
Requirements
- Must be able to work 32 hours/week
- Must be able to work every other weekend
- Must be able to work rotating 8-hour shifts
- Must be able to work Day Shift (7:00AM - 3:30PM)
- Must be able to work Overnight Shift (11:00PM - 7:30AM)
Qualifications
- Six months of patient care experience, or completion of one semester of clinical rotations, or successful completion of EH provided Nursing Assistant training, or verifiable completion of a recognized nurse aide training program, or current registration on applicable state nursing assistant registry.
