Nursing Assistant

About This Role

This Nursing Assistant role enhances the clinical team's effectiveness by collecting patient data, responding to requests, providing personal care, and maintaining the clinical environment. The position ensures compassionate care and communication within the healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize, plan, and complete assigned patient care tasks
• Attend to patients' personal care needs, including transfers and ambulation
• Obtain accurate vital signs, clinical parameters, and specimens like blood sugar readings, EKGs, and drawn blood samples
• Respond promptly to patient requests and report significant findings or changes to RNs
• Establish a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients and families
• Promote customer service by greeting patients, visitors, and associates, answering questions within scope of practice
• Collect and document patient information in records, including intake/output and patient activity
• Maintain patient confidence and organizational confidentiality
• Operate patient care equipment according to policy and procedure
• Provide a safe and clean working environment through environmental rounds and infection control practices
• Support unit efficiency by cleaning, restocking equipment, and reporting maintenance issues
• Maintain technical knowledge by identifying learning needs, attending workshops, and meeting mandatory education requirements

Requirements

• High School Diploma
• Basic Life Support / CPR certification from American Heart Association

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required
• 1 year acute or long-term care experience preferred
