Nursing Assistant Days

About This Role

This role involves providing direct patient care, supporting medical staff in the operating room, and ensuring a clean and safe environment, primarily working four 10-hour day shifts.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates competency in the physical care of the patient according to AHF/unit patient care standards
• Implements admission, transfer, and discharge procedures
• Utilizes effective communication and interpersonal skills with patients, families, and healthcare team members
• Demonstrates competence in time management, teamwork, problem-solving, and organization skills
• Participates in maintaining supplies, equipment, and unit cleanliness
• Demonstrates self-growth and accountability in quality assurance and policy adherence
• Assists in achieving unit quality scores for nurse-sensitive indicators
• Performs glucose monitoring via fingerstick and accurately documents intake/output, vital signs, and weights
• Promptly notifies nurse of abnormal vital signs, observations, or physical complaints

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to communicate with patients, staff, and coworkers
• BLS certification
• CPI certification

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• One year of experience taking care of patients and dealing with the public preferred.

Nice to Have

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
• One year of experience taking care of patients and dealing with the public
