Nurse Extern - Nursery

About This Role

This role is for a Nurse Extern in the Nursery department at Baptist Memorial Health Care, where you will perform specific nursing activities and procedures under the supervision of an RN preceptor, utilizing skills covered in your nursing school curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Perform specific nursing activities and procedures as listed on the Clinical Skills Check List
• Operate under the supervision of an RN preceptor

Requirements

• Graduate of accredited high school
• Successfully completed one academic year or two clinical semesters of clinical courses in nursing
• Enrollment in an approved Mississippi Summer Student Nurse Externship course for Summer 2026
• Enrolled in an accredited school of nursing program affiliated with BMH-Oktibbeha County
• Maintain good academic standing
• Current BLS certification

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited high school; must have successfully completed one academic year or two clinical semesters of clinical courses in nursing; must enroll in an approved Mississippi Summer Student Nurse Externship course for Summer 2026 term; must be enrolled in an accredited school of nursing program affiliated with BMH-Oktibbeha County and maintain good academic standing.
