Nurse Extern-Cardiac/Tele

About This Role

The Nurse Extern provides basic nursing skills and care to patients under the direction of a Registered Nurse within a patient and family-centered care model. This role facilitates quality service outcomes by assisting with personal care, phlebotomy, EKG, and other fundamental nursing tasks.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic nursing skills and care within the patient and family centered care model under the direction of a Registered Nurse
• Assist with personal care for patients
• Perform phlebotomy
• Perform EKG procedures
• Facilitate quality service outcomes through basic nursing skills

Requirements

• Enrollment in a BSN program with completion of at least the third year OR enrollment in Associate Nursing program with completion of at least one year of the nursing curriculum
• BLS through AHA or Red Cross

Qualifications

• Enrollment in a BSN program with completion of at least the third year, or enrollment in an Associate Nursing program with completion of at least one year of the nursing curriculum.
• One year clinical experience as a Nursing Assistant in a healthcare setting is preferred.
