Nurse Assistant - Emergency Room

About This Role

The Nurse Assistant provides direct and indirect patient care tasks as delegated by licensed nursing personnel. This role focuses on basic patient care, supporting patient safety, and ensuring patient satisfaction in the Emergency Room.

Responsibilities

• Perform direct and indirect patient care tasks as delegated by licensed nursing personnel
• Provide basic patient care including bathing, hygiene, elimination and toileting, nutrition, feeding, hydration, ambulation, and positioning
• Support patient safety and patient satisfaction by performing regular patient rounds
• Effectively communicate with all team members
• Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate patient care

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Successful completion of an unlicensed assistive personnel curriculum OR documented experience as a Nursing Assistant, EMT, ER Technician, or Surgical Technician in the past three years OR completed a LPN program outside the US and awaiting licensure OR nursing student who has completed fundamentals/equivalent course OR nursing licensure candidate who failed state exams in past three years OR certified nursing assistant as defined in section 198.082, RSMo
• BLS Certification

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Previous computer experience preferred; previous hospital or nursing home experience preferred
