This Radiopharmacist position at Brigham and Women's Hospital involves overseeing the independent operation of the Radiopharmacy, including SPECT radiopharmaceutical preparation, quality control, and dispensing. The role supports daily compounding and manufacturing efforts for radiotracers for researchers and clinicians, ensuring compliance with institutional, state, and federal regulations.
Responsibilities
- Operate the Radiopharmacy independently and staff BICOR manufacturing units during operating hours as needed
- Oversee and perform SPECT radiopharmaceutical preparation, quality control, and dispensing
- Perform PET compounding, manufacturing, quality control, and distribution
- Compare handwritten results on manufacturing and compounding batch records with product specifications and release product
- Oversee inventory management systems for SPECT radiopharmaceuticals and other necessary materials
- Complete and/or oversee maintenance and system suitability for daily equipment use
- Verify all cleanroom parameters required for daily operation
- Ensure cleanliness of the facility in accordance with documented cleaning schedules
- Oversee radiation wipes and surveys on shipping containers, supplies, packages, and workspaces
- Work with the Quality Systems Administration team to monitor the overall integrity of the cGMP manufacturing process
- Assist in the preparation of documentation for ANDA, IND and RDRC regulatory reviews
- Provide training and direction to staff and assist with the instruction of students and residents
- Provide information on radioactive pharmaceuticals to outside inquiries
Requirements
- Graduate of an AACP accredited pharmacy program
- Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy licensed or Board eligible
- Completed a program in nuclear pharmacy including coursework in radiation safety, radiopharmacy techniques, health physics and instrumentation or equivalent experience
- Experience in computer data entry, ordering, and compiling data
- Familiarity with NRC, DOT, FDA, Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy, EPA, and OSHA regulations
Qualifications
- Graduate of an AACP accredited pharmacy program
