About This Role

This Non Destructive (NDT) Test Technician – Level 4 primarily performs radiographic inspections (RT) on composite rocket motors, ensuring quality and safety. The role involves inspecting materials and parts for defects using automated and manual radiographic techniques, and occasionally utilizing other NDT methods.

Responsibilities

  • Perform non-destructive testing (NDT) radiographic inspections (RT) on composite rocket motors
  • Inspect composite materials, parts and assemblies for defects using automated and manual methods with radiographic techniques
  • Perform in-house part and material inspections using ultrasonic (UT), liquid penetrant (PT), magnetic particle (MT), and eddy current (ET) inspection methods
  • Work in different locations, including confined spaces
  • Work a rotating schedule between day and night shifts
  • Occasionally work overtime and flexible/changing schedules including weekends as required

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 6 years additional education and/or related experience
  • Must currently hold BOTH Level II Radiography (RT) AND Level II Ultrasound (UT) certifications
  • Ability to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitive work to include bending, stooping, kneeling, carrying tools, and lifting up to 50lbs
  • NAS410 qualified Level 2 classroom training/experience, or equivalent, in radiographic methodology, either in progress or completed
  • Willingness to work a rotating schedule between day and night shift
  • Willingness to occasionally work overtime and flexible/changing schedules including weekends

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent and 6 years additional education and/or related experience
  • 6+ years additional education and/or related experience, with 5+ years in backend development

Nice to Have

  • Eddy Current, Ultrasonic, and Mag Particle Level 2 certifications
  • Experience and familiarity with inspection/interpretation of engineering requirements
  • Experience working with automated radiographic inspection systems
  • Experience with handheld UT pulse echo units (USM GO, USN 60) and or phased array (MX2, Veo)
  • Experience with eddy current weld and aluminum tubing inspections (NORTEC 500)
