Network Engineer II

About This Role

This role involves managing network operations and troubleshooting within a healthcare environment, focusing on routing and switching to ensure network reliability and performance.

Responsibilities

• Support and maintain Layer 2 and Layer 3 network functionality, focusing on routing and switching
• Configure, administer, and troubleshoot Extreme Networks equipment
• Manage network work requests, ensuring proper registration and connectivity across facilities
• Troubleshoot network issues and participate in project work
• Collaborate with senior engineers on complex network solutions and enhancements
• Participate in an on-call rotation for your designated region, assisting with urgent network concerns
• Contribute to a variety of project work, including upgrades and new installations within the network infrastructure

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in network engineering with Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking
• Knowledge of network protocols and technologies such as OSPF and BGP, along with fabric technology

Qualifications

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in network engineering, with a strong focus on Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking principles

Nice to Have

• Familiarity with Extreme Networks technology
• Prior experience in a healthcare environment
• Experience in network access control and wireless networking
• Ability to handle high-level troubleshooting effectively
• Cisco technology knowledge
