About This Role

Responsibilities

• Use standards to identify common learning targets for student instruction
• Utilize knowledge of students' background, interests, and needs to inform planning
• Develop daily, weekly, and year-long plans to support student growth towards mastery of standards
• Establish and communicate clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects
• Instruct students individually and in groups using various teaching methods to build engagement and collaboration
• Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests
• Provide daily opportunities for students to describe reasoning, share explanations, and justify conclusions
• Define and plan formative assessments to show evidence of learning
• Use multiple ways to check for student understanding and adjust instruction based on gathered information
• Provide students with meaningful feedback that reinforces effort and promotes progress
• Establish rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order
• Meet with parents/guardians to discuss student progress and resource needs
• Collaborate with all staff in support of student learning

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree
• Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) teaching license in Music, Instrumental Music, Vocal Music, or General Music
