About This Role

This role involves developing and maintaining a diverse collection of resources, collaborating with teachers to integrate information literacy and technology skills into the curriculum, and leading professional development for staff.

Responsibilities

  • Work with school leadership to ensure library hours, space, and seating provide flexible and optimal access for all learners
  • Create a welcoming and accessible library space for all staff, students, and families
  • Build, maintain and organize a comprehensive, current collection supporting different levels, languages, cultures for maximum use
  • Collaborate with teachers and administrators to select and evaluate appropriate materials, both digital tools and print resources
  • Communicate policies and procedures to the school community
  • Instruct and direct support staff, volunteers, and student assistants
  • Curate, track, and monitor both digital and print resources via resource manager
  • Collaborate with teams of teachers to implement information literacy, research, and digital citizenship best practices
  • Consult with teachers, staff, and school-based leadership and offer professional development to staff to integrate information and technology skills
  • Advocate for, promote, and report about the role and services of the school library media program

Requirements

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Strong technology skills applicable to instruction

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree

Nice to Have

  • Customer service experience
  • Leadership and coaching/training experience
