This role involves developing and maintaining a diverse collection of resources, collaborating with teachers to integrate information literacy and technology skills into the curriculum, and leading professional development for staff.
Responsibilities
- Work with school leadership to ensure library hours, space, and seating provide flexible and optimal access for all learners
- Create a welcoming and accessible library space for all staff, students, and families
- Build, maintain and organize a comprehensive, current collection supporting different levels, languages, cultures for maximum use
- Collaborate with teachers and administrators to select and evaluate appropriate materials, both digital tools and print resources
- Communicate policies and procedures to the school community
- Instruct and direct support staff, volunteers, and student assistants
- Curate, track, and monitor both digital and print resources via resource manager
- Collaborate with teams of teachers to implement information literacy, research, and digital citizenship best practices
- Consult with teachers, staff, and school-based leadership and offer professional development to staff to integrate information and technology skills
- Advocate for, promote, and report about the role and services of the school library media program
Requirements
- Exceptional interpersonal skills
- Strong technology skills applicable to instruction
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
