About This Role

This role primarily involves performing imaging procedures across at least two modalities (e.g., XR, CT, MRI) for diagnostic interpretation. The technologist operates equipment, ensures patient safety, and acquires necessary clinical history.

Responsibilities

Performs duties for any two imaging modalities (ex: XR, CT, MRI)
Meets continuing education or clinical requirements by regulatory standards
Operates equipment and is knowledgeable in workflows, procedures, and processes of the two imaging modalities
Selects appropriate imaging/sequences with consideration for approved protocols
Obtains patient's clinical history and appropriate lab work, ensuring documentation
Applies safety principles specific to the two imaging modalities to minimize risk
Provides radiation protection and other protection specific to the two modalities for patients and others
Verifies patient identification using two patient identifiers and the procedure requested
Performs venipuncture, including starting, maintaining, and/or removing intravenous access as required
Identifies, prepares, and/or administers medications/contrast as prescribed by a licensed practitioner as required

Requirements

Certification and Registration with ARRT, RDMS, or CNMT
Competency and certification in 2 of the following within 12 months: Bone Densitometry (BD), Breast Sonography (BS), Radiologic Technology (R), Computed Tomography (CT), Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR), Ultrasonography (S), Nuclear Medicine (N), Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography (CV), Cardiac Interventional Radiography (CI), Cardiac Sonographer (CS), Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI), Mammography (M), Vascular Sonography (VS), Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT)
BLS Basic Life Support, American Heart Association

Qualifications

Associate's from an ARRT accredited institute or an approved NDT or Ultrasound/Medical Sonography program (preferred)
1 year of experience in healthcare environment (preferred)
