About This Role

The Mortgage Retail Sales Consultant (SAFE) at Wells Fargo helps customers secure residential mortgages by building relationships, providing excellent customer service, and ensuring compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Solicit residential mortgages from various sources
  • Produce high quality and compliant loans while providing excellent customer service
  • Build relationships with realtors, builders, financial professionals, bank stores, and past customers
  • Develop and maintain Wells Fargo Home Mortgage visibility in the marketplace and stay informed of industry trends
  • Present recommendations for producing loans and exercise independent judgment while adhering to policies and compliance
  • Understand real estate appraisals, title reports, and real estate transactions
  • Receive customer applications, quote rates, and complete follow-up activities for registration lock-in
  • Analyze financial and credit data to match customers with appropriate loan programs
  • Inform prospective and existing customers of Wells Fargo Home Mortgage programs, rates, policies, and underwriting requirements
  • Maintain high standard of client satisfaction through timely and proactive communication
  • Pursue Wells Fargo training offerings to increase knowledge of company products, policies, and procedures

Requirements

  • 2+ years of Mortgage Retail Sales experience, or equivalent
  • SAFE registration at time of employment
  • Compliance with S.A.F.E. Mortgage Licensing Act of 2008 and related regulations
  • Ability to lift 20+ pounds
  • Reliable transportation

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of Mortgage Retail Sales experience, or equivalent demonstrated through work experience, training, military experience, or education

Nice to Have

  • Basic Microsoft Office skills
  • Documented retail residential mortgage fundings over the past 12 months from established external sources
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Mortgage industry experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of sales prospecting and generating referrals
  • Experience developing and cultivating professional relationships
  • Customer service experience
